Secretary Chu Announces Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future
President Obama’s administration has made a commitment to explore and promote the use of nuclear energy in the United States as a clean, safe and reliable alternative energy source. Secretary Chu of the U.S. Department of Energy has announced a 15 member bipartisan Blue Ribbon Commission on America’s Nuclear Future who have a range of expertise and experience in nuclear issues, including scientists, industry representatives, and respected former elected officials. The first interim report of the commission is due out June, 2011.
Climate Bill Must Address Manufacturing U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown doubts that a climate change bill could pass the Senate without addressing the concerns of U.S. manufacturing. Speaking to reporters during a conference call Tuesday, Brown, D-Ohio, said some form of border adjustment must be in any climate change bill until China and other counties move in the direction they need to.

EPA Analysis: Jobs and Household Incomes Increase Under Climate Policy
Today EPA released and analysis of what the economy might look like if the proposed Waxman Markey bill were enacted. This legislation would finally put a cap on dangerous global warming pollution, driving investments that will create millions of clean energy jobs, reduce our dangerous dependence on oil, and help protect the planet.
For too long, America has been dependent on unstable countries for our oil. We have to end that dependence. We need to make our energy clean and make it American.
